We were asked to create a contemporary and minimalist entertaining space by our clients that was low maintenance but had to look good all year. In the small space it was important to maximise every square metre available. Using a palette of warm grey cast concrete pavers to harmonise with the interiors and window detailing of the house we were able to create a seamless outdoor room. The planting palette was deliberately limited to a pair of Osmanthus burkwoodii multistem trees for architectural impact with Prunus and Pittosporum to add evergreen structure. The garden is a triumph of less is more for a busy working couple to relax in at the end of the day.
